Michele Birch.

Keyworker

I joined Brighter Futures in September 2018, after many years as a travel agent and a support worker for young adults/children with additional needs. I also volunteered with Mencap in my hometown of Bristol.

I started work in the Brighter Futures creche, and very much enjoyed my role for three years before a new challenge of becoming a Trainee Keyworker in September 2021.

I am a Drawing and Talking practitioner, going around all the schools in the Island helping children with trauma, worries or fears . This is all done through drawing pictures and talking about the children's worries through their drawings.

As part of my role, I attend two Growing Together groups and also help with the Functional Skills group .

I am passionate about helping families in the best way I can and I'm very keen to learn more in my new role.

Parents always used to say how safe they felt when leaving their children with me when I was part of the Creche Team, and I feel really positive about this feedback.
