Keyworker

Before I joined Brighter Futures, my previous jobs were in the beauty and finance industries, so Brighter Futures is a complete change! .

I started as a volunteer in the creche at Brighter Futures. A position then came up which I applied for and was successful in obtaining, in the creche. I found that I loved working with the little ones and the great creche team.

I expressed an interest in a key worker role so when the opportunity came to become an intern trainee key worker (Sept 2021) I jumped at it - and here I am!

I love being part of the Growing Together groups, seeing the interactions between the parents and children and being there to watch the parent and child develop and become more confident in themselves. The role is so varied, you never know what each day will bring. Starting in my new graduate trainee role has made me really appreciate the work and support that Brighter Futures does and that I’m lucky enough to be a part of it.

I’m about to start my final year of my Level 4 Counselling Diploma. I love that counselling, like my Brighter Futures role helps clients to regain their confidence in themselves and to help them realise that with a little support they can be what they want to be.
